HighScope Educational Research Foundation recognizes the importance of protecting child information and we are committed to protecting your on-line experience while using Letter Links Online software.

HighScope Educational Research Foundation (HighScope) is a not-for-profit corporation in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Letter Links Online is a service offered by HighScope. HighScope is dedicated to meeting the needs of its subscribers with the highest regard to safety and privacy. By using the Letter Links Online service:

1. You are agreeing that the terms of our Privacy Policy are acceptable to you
2. You do not expect HighScope to take any measures to safeguard confidential data or information other than as set forth in this Privacy Policy
3. You will not do anything to violate the terms of this Privacy Policy yourself

We collect a limited amount of personal information from teachers about themselves and their students in order to provide you with customized, personalized service. During our registration process we will set up a username and password to establish secure access to your personal information. You can change your password after you log in to the program for the first time.

As a registered subscriber, you may, among other things, create and edit lists of “letter links” (nametags with letter-linked images) for children in your classroom or preschool center. To become a registered subscriber, you will need to supply your name and e-mail address so you can be assigned a username and password. The username you receive when you register may not be changed without contacting the HighScope Press customer support department. Registered subscribers may update their password and e-mail address at any time online. Your registration will automatically expire two years after your registration date and at that time you will no longer have access to the class lists and letter links you have created with the program unless you renew your subscription. Registered subscribers may also elect to permanently terminate their registration at any time by calling 800-407-7377, or e-mail to [email protected]. Upon actual receipt of such notice, all class lists created by you with the program will no longer be available to you online.

Only registered subscribers can create class lists of letter links for their students. Your registration is intended for one classroom’s use. You may create more than one class list for your classroom’s use and you may also access the program from any computer you normally use.

Any personal information that you provide will be held in strict confidence and security. In addition the following terms relating to the ownership and use of data apply to the use of the service:

All personal information specific to a class or child will be exclusively available to the registered user who creates the class list, with the exception of drawings and photos uploaded by the user, which may be reviewed by HighScope. HighScope reserves the right to review such user-uploaded photos or drawings and to remove any photos and drawings deemed objectionable. If it is necessary to remove objectionable material from your class lists, HighScope has the right to terminate your registration without notice. Class lists and Letter Links created on the site, and user-uploaded photos and drawings, are reproducible for educational uses in the registered user’s classroom only and may not be re-published in any form.

The entry of all personal data in Letter Links Online is the responsibility of the teacher who is the registered user.

HighScope will not divulge your e-mail address without your consent.

HighScope will not, without your consent, rent, sell, or otherwise divulge your personal information to any third party except in a non-personalized, aggregated form.

When you conduct a transaction through this site, you are providing transaction information to HighScope third-party suppliers (such as transaction processors and financial institutions) who will use the information solely for the purpose of the transaction.

HighScope reserves the right to contact you via e-mail to notify you of important system changes or to obtain your consent to use personally identifiable data for any purpose not described above. HighScope will not use any personally identifiable data for any such purpose without your prior consent.

Letter Links Online does not use cookies to store personal information.

If you are located outside the United States, please note that the personal information you provide us will be transferred to the United States. Whenever you submit any personal data to us, you consent to this transfer.

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Transmissions of information are encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use generally acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee it absolute security.

The Letter Links Online site may contain links to other Websites. Please be aware that this privacy statement applies solely to the information collected in the Letter Links Online site. HighScope is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Websites. We encourage you to be aware when you are leaving the Letter Links Online site and read the privacy statement of the site that you visit prior to providing any personal information.

Additional Information

Though Letter Links Online will never ask for private information from children, we are aware of the policies that protect children, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and the rules adopted by the Federal Trade Commission there under.
